Day 1: Sydney - Manly beach ferry, and downtown Sydney

Circular Quay, Sydney (next ferry leaving for Manly)
We reached Sydney around noon and were glad with the location of our Airbnb. It was situated within 5-10 mins walking from Darling Harbor and under 15 mins walking from Opera House.

Manly beach and wharf, Sydney
The first day we walked to the Circular Quay where you get local ferries. You can see the Harbor bridge and Opera House from the ferry dock. We got tickets for the Manly ferry (leaves from Wharf 3), which is a half-hour ride one way. Before we got on, we topped off our Opal cards (useful for any public transport in New South Wales - bus, train, boat) - similar to the Oyster cards in UK). Kids prices are half of adult prices.

Manly Wharf, Sydney
We reached Manly and took a dip in the ocean. There are some restaurants around Manly Wharf, we had an early dinner and took the ferry back to Circular Quay. You get awesome views of the Harbor Bridge and Opera House from the ferry and it's best to get seats at the front of the ferry. (outdoors).

On the way back, there is a Cole's (supermarket) on the corner of King St and George St, incase you need to stock up.
