Day 11: Paris to Barcelona, Barceloneta beach

We were done with our Paris visit (sigh!) and were on our way to Orly airport via Metro and then you take the Orly Val train to the terminal. We had lunch at Quick on the airport (like a burger and fries fast food place - not too many choices :() and then checked in our EasyJet flight to Barcelona. We had to pay for our checked in bags online during online check-in. You have pay a higher check-in baggage fee at the airport. The flight was pleasant and by 4pm we were in Barcelona. We took the Aeroport bus to the city center (5.9 Euros per person, including kids) and then a short cab ride to our hotel doorstep. Our hotel was in Old Town, steps away from the Jaume I metro stop. The street downstairs was lively and full of tourists and people as we were two blocks from La Rambla street (long boulevard, full of stores and restaurants) and 20 minutes walking from Barceloneta beach.

After settling in our room, we geared up for the beach, and walked in the direction of the docks. Before the beach, we had dinner at a restaurant- "Catedra", where we had the best paella ever!  On the way to the beach, we saw many booths with crafts, souvenirs, and street food.
The beach was packed with people and was framed by the "W" hotel on one side. There were hawkers selling sheets (from India! :)), mojitos and massages. After swimming, we walked back towards the hotel, ate some freshly fried churros on the way - so delicous!
