We had our Eurostar booking from London to Paris for 6:31pm. We reached St. Pancras International by 4:30pm as we really wanted to see the 9 3/4 station where Harry Potter enters the magical platform to take him to Hogwarts.
There was a long line to hold the trolley, wearing a Hogwarts scarf and get your picture taken. However, we took the easy way out and got some pictures from far.
There was also a wonderful gift shop for Harry Potter fans and of course we were in before you knew it.
From there, we made our way to our platform, going through immigration and security for the Eurostar journey. The train was comfortable and it was a pleasant and short journey to Paris. We reached Paris at 10pm Paris time (one hour ahead of London) and took the Metro train from Nord du Gare (the station where the Eurostar stops) to the closest metro stop from our Airbnb flat.
We bought a bundle of 10 tickets from the kiosk which were 1.5 Euros each. One ticket is valid for one ride per person. That was a better option for us, than the day passes for 1, 3, 5 days resp.
It was raining in Paris that night and we got a little wet walking from the station to the flat. Thankfully, we had taken rain jackets for the kids and they were fine, Our flat was in a nice locality on a residential cum store lined street - Cherche du Midi in the St. Germain du Pres neighborhood.
